Prompt: A non-horror story featuring a ghost

Word Count: 100

Blue grass

The spirit was too young.

Maizy’s lips twisted with pity. Maybe six years old. Light brown skin, a heart-shaped face, and pigtails curling down her back. A faint blue aura when Maizy flexed her Sight.

It was her job to lay ghosts back to rest. To let them find peace.

She showed the girl the vial in her hand: a spirit siphon, an offering. But the ghost shook her head, brown eyes flashing red as she pointed a tiny finger at a man in the distance.

Maizy understood, walking away without another glance.

The child deserved her vengeance.
