Reading Recap: June

This, my friends, is what we call a reading slump. Although I am part of the way through several other books, I only officially finished one book in the entire month of June.

I wanted to like this book. I really really did. I rated Gleam 5 stars and I had such high expectations for Glow. But this book was long, focusing on a lot of character backstory, alternate viewpoint characters, and plot build-up with nothing really ... happening.⁠

Of course, I still love Slade Ravinger and all of his wicked Fae self. The sex scenes are deliciously filthy and his burn-the-world villain vibes are wonderful.⁠

The last 20% of the book was (finally) action-packed, filled with twists and turns that make me hopeful for the final installment of the series: Gold. However, taken alone, this book just didn't do it for me.⁠
